From the parish bulletin: Karen Haslag celebrates ten years as Music Director and Organist at St. Elizabeth Church on Christmas Day. (1999 – 2004, 2011 – 2015). Beginning in 2016 Karen will retire as Sunday Organist and Choir Director. Karen will continue handling Saturday Masses and be Parish Music Director. We are searching for a new Sunday Organist/Choir Director. Please contact Karen if you know of any person qualified.

The St. Elizabeth Choir will lead singing of music “a cappella” all four Sundays in Advent at 9:30 Sunday Mass. There will be no organ or piano accompaniment. We are sharing this experience with the congregation in the spirit of “anticipation” of Christmas.

Thank you to Sunday, 9:30 a.m. St. Elizabeth Parish Choir cantors: Sean Hyland, Christel DeLeon and Tony Ramos –Let’s show our support and sing joyfully!

Saturday, 4:30 p.m. Mass has a new team of cantors: Kathleen Barnes, Audrey Howitt, Elizabeth Patterson and Charlene Siquian. Let’s show our support and sing joyfully with them at Mass!

The St. Elizabeth Choir welcomes new members. If you are interested in information for 9:30 Sunday Mass and choir rehearsal schedules ,please see Karen Haslag, Music Director, after a Saturday 4:30 or Sunday 9:30 Mass.

Mass Service Music will now include the “Holy Holy” of the MASS FOR A NEW WORLD, composed by David Haas. The Memorial Acclamation is “When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup we proclaim your death O Lord, until you come again.”

If you LOVE TO SING, consider joining a choir at St. Elizabeth. Talk to any choir director following a Sunday Mass for more information on Mass and rehearsal schedules for a choir you are interested in:

“He who sings prays twice” is a famous quote by St. Augustine.

As a SINGING CONGREGATION, let’s all put that into practice at St. Elizabeth. It doesn’t matter if you sing on pitch or not. Use whatever voice God gave you and please sing along – especially on the service parts of the Mass: Glory to God, Holy, Memorial Acclamation, Amen, Our Father and Lamb of God.
